Marc Weinberg z’l remembered with respect and affection on 9th Yahrzeit

Last night in Modi’in there was a shiur honouring the memory of Marc Weinberg who passed away nine years ago.

The shul where the shiur took place was full of family members and friends of all ages who wanted to pay their respects.

After one of Marc’s daughters started the evening, Rabbi Shaul Robinson spoke about his memories of Marc. He highlighed the fact that although Marc was very much an establishment figure, he at the same time, was able to see through it and see the reality and truth behind it all.

He also mentioned how Marc had helped him in his various community roles and he valued the advice he had given him.

Rabbi Gideon Sylvester gave the main shiur where he spoke about the important of greeting people, being warm and encouraging to others and including everyone. These are some of the many traits and qualities that Marc had. Rabbi Sylvester also looked into some of the Halachik aspects of how we should greet and speak to people.

Rabbi Sylvester also mentioned some stories about Marc and how he was a real community builder and ‘doer.’

Marc’s dad, Henry, ended the evening.
