9 Family / Kids Activities for the ‘9 Days’ in Jerusalem

One thing I enjoy about the IsraelK online community I run is working with other website who also serve the community.

Joanna Shebson runs an excellent website, Fun in Jerusalem which I recommend you all use.

She did this listing of family and kids activities for the ‘9 Days’ period we are now in.

This is from her website:

If you are on vacation with kids during the 9 days before Tisha Bav, finding the right activities can be a challenge. The obvious advantage of spending the 9 days in Jerusalem is that it’s easier to find relevant activities that not only conform to the 9 days restrictions but that will connect your kids to the time of year and the historical significance.

Here are 9 activities for you to choose from.

Reveal Jerusalem MegaScaventure
On August 11 you have the chance to take part in an incredible experience. Follow clues and complete missions that start at the First Station in Jerusalem and will take you to different parts of the city. Learn about the history of the city and win some great prizes. Each team will receive a bag full of fun goodies and will compete to win the megascaventure. There are still a few spots open for more teams. This event is run by Israel Scaventures, Reveal Cards, Tower of David & Fun In Jerusalem.

Old City Scavenger Hunt
If you are not able to make it to the special megascaventure then you can book your own scavenger hunt through the Old City, Nachlaot or the shuk. Learn about the history of the city while playing a fun game that kids love.
